Henry Alexander Morris

Mr. Henry Alexander Morris, 69, passed away Monday, February 24, 2014, at Big Elm Nursing Center.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday, March 1, 2014, at Prince of Peace Freewill Baptist Church, 4225 Vincent Street, Kannapolis. Rev. Charles Overcash will officiate.

The family will receive friends following the service on Saturday at the church.

Mr. Morris was born on June 6, 1944 in Rowan County. He was a son of the late Henry Lewis Morris and Blanche Marie Benfield Morris. Mr. Morris worked at Cannon Mills and later drove a garbage truck.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Hazel Chapman; and two brothers, Johnny Morris and Charlie Morris.

Mr. Morris is survived by two daughters, Vickie Cook and husband Frankie, of Monroe and Theresa Calloway and husband Gene, of Salisbury; three sons, Harold Morris and wife Debbie, of Kannapolis, Bobby Morris of Landis and Joe Morris and wife Patricia, of Concord; sister, Margaret Lisk of Landis; twenty grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.
