Horace Roger Williams

Mr. Horace Roger Williams, 73, of 455 Eastside Drive, China Grove, and formerly of China Grove Road, Kannapolis, died Saturday, May 18, 2002, at NorthEast Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday, May 20, 2002, at Homestead Baptist Church in Kannapolis. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove. The Rev. Terry Brown will officiate. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9:00 PM Sunday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the residence. Born January 18, 1929, in Tallapoosa, Georgia, he was a son of the late Cleveland Williams and the late Jewel Ford Williams. He retired several years ago from the slasher room of Cannon Mills, Plant One in Kannapolis. Survivors include his wife, Imogene Chandler Williams; three sons, Roger Williams of Landis, Douglas Williams of Kannapolis, Terry Williams of China Grove; five sisters, Billie Patten of Kannapolis, Edna Skinner, Geraldine Roach, and Dean Wright, all of Ohatchee, AL, Erlene Albright of Gaston, AL; a brother, Eugene Williams of Tallapoosa, GA; four grandchildren, Ashlyn Williams, Zach Williams, Jennifer Rymer and Mendi Shinn.
