Howard Grady Barbee

Howard Grady Barbee, 90, of 215 Moon Circle, passed away Friday, Dec. 5, 2008, at his home. A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, December 7, 2008 at Lady's Funeral Home. The family will recieve friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service. Mr. Barbee was born August 10, 1918, in Lexington. He was the son of the late Rupert Grady Barbee and Zula Hilton Barbee. He worked as a truck driver. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in World War II. Mr. Barbee is survived by his wife, Myrna Barbee; a sister, Roselle Kelly of Fort Myers, Fla.; two stepchildren, Clyde Pittmon, and wife, Beth, of Kannapolis and Saundra Hoffner and husband, Gary, of Rockwell; four grandchildren, Brandi Sloop, Jason Dixon, Abby Pittmon and Maggie Pittmon; three great-grandchildren, Tavarus Sloop, Dominik Sloop and Mickenzie Sloop.
