Mr. Hoyle Lee Bullen, 71, passed away Friday, August 2, 2013, at the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House in Salisbury.
A funeral service is scheduled for 12:30 pm Wednesday, August 7, 2013, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Mike Robertson will officiate. Interment will follow at Salisbury National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11 to 12:15 pm Wednesday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Mr. Bullen was born September 10, 1941 in Red Bay, AL. He was a son of the late Flois Bullen and Gladys Fancher Bullen. He worked for the Village of Lombard, IL as a senior supervisor in the Street Department. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He attended Landmark Church and was an avid bowler.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie “Nell” Ruth Smith Bullen; two brothers, Kenneth Dean Bullen and Jack Vaughn; sister, Dixie Poley; a granddaughter, Holly Saleh.
Mr. Bullen is survived by his daughter, Karen B. Saleh and husband Abdullah of Kannapolis; son, David Bullen and wife Maureen of Beach Park, IL; four sisters, Ruby Bullen of Evanston, IL, Sally Bullen of Wheaton, IL, Loni Burdi of Lombard, IL and Patricia Clute of Foley, AL; two brothers, Ralph Wayne Bullen and Thomas Arthur Bullen, both of Evanston, IL; and granddaughter, Rhanya Saleh.
