Ida Mae Henderson

Mrs. Ida Mae Bates Henderson, 93, passed away Thursday, November 6, 2014, at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, November 9, 2014, at North Kannapolis United Methodist Church. Rev. Ron Hartman will officiate.

The family will receive friends after the memorial service Sunday in the Life Center at the Church.

Mrs. Henderson was born on December 31, 1920 in Madison, GA. She was a daughter of the late Henry Bates and Vonie Sailors Bates. Mrs. Henderson worked for Cannon Mills for 47 years and later retired from Jackson Park Elementary School. She was a member of North Kannapolis United Methodist Church. Mrs. Henderson was a loving and caring mother to her entire family and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde M. Henderson.

Mrs. Henderson is survived by her daughter, Cathy Henderson Gold of Charlotte; son, Monty Henderson and wife, Nicole of Kannapolis; sister, Melba Andrews of Lenoir; and three grandchildren, Kelly M. Henderson of Kannapolis, Jorrdan Combs and Abby Combs, both of Charlotte; and two great grandchildren, Izaiah Henderson and Chase Alex Edmonds.
