I didn't know Ira well but worked with his mother Phyllis for many years. Ira and his mother showed amazing courage and persistence in dealing with Ira's illness over the years. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Phyllis.
I send my deepest condolences to your family. My name Is Luella Davis and I have Cystic Fibrosis. I had the pleasure to work along side Ira at our Pulmonary Rehab class. I am so very sorry for your loss. He will be missed.
Ira will be forever missed by the staff of six bed tower. We loved his humor and his spirit. He was a joy to be around, even when feeling at his worst. He holds a special place in our hearts. We think of him in happier healthier times and are relieved he no longer has to struggle, but we grieve the loss of him and the pain his loss causes all who were touched by his life.
Phyllis,
You are a part of our family and i just wanted to let you know our prayers are with you. Ira was a wonderful person and i will never forget him.
Love,
Candi Newton

Dear Family,
I am the Manager of the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program at CMC-NorthEast and most importantly a friend of Ira's. I had the pleasure of experiencing Ira in a unique way as he exercised with us. Ira's wit, humor, and encouragement were and are an inspiration to me. He shared his love for you and life even during his worst days. I appreciated his "gumption" and "making it daily" (even when he didn't feel like it) on his own terms. He has helped me professionally and personally. Ira was a joy to be friends with in so many ways that I cannot put into words. I do desire that you find some encouragment from me that I found so often from Ira. Prayerfully,
Mike Lippard
I have worked as a nurse on 6BT for 8yrs. Ira was one of the family and I will miss his cocky grin. My prayers are for gratitude that he is no longer suffering and comfort to us all who will miss him.
Ira..you WILL be MISSED!!!!! But GOD has you now and all of your pain is gone!
