Iris Hooks Gentle

Mrs. Iris Hooks Gentle, 65, of 1094 Rembrandt Drive, Concord, died Tuesday, July 4, 2006, at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 6, 2006, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel in Kannapolis. The Rev. Jeffery J. Rushing and the Rev. Robert Eubanks will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the residence. Born August 3, 1940, in Cabarrus County, she was the daughter of the late Lee Hooks and Pauline Helms Hooks. She worked in several mills in the area and retired from Mastercraft in Concord. Survivors include her husband, James Ray Gentle; a daughter, Pamela Elizabeth Ray and husband Dwight of Mt. Pleasant; three sons, James Ray "Jimmy" Gentle, Jr. and wife Sonia of Concord, Christopher G. "Chris" Gentle and Kevin Dean Gentle and wife Mindy, both of Midland; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
