J. Marion Fulk

July 11, 1927 — June 14, 2013

Rev. J. Marion Fulk, 85, passed away Friday, June 14, 2013 at his home.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, June 16, 2013 at Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church. Rev. David Raiford, Rev. Steve Johnson and Rev. Joseph M. Fulk, III will officiate. Rev. Fulk will lie in state from 2:30 to 3:00 prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 pm Saturday, June 15, 2013 at Lady's Funeral Home.

Rev. Fulk was born on July 11, 1927 in Mt. Airy. He was a son of the late H. Claude Fulk and Kate Marion Fulk. He served in US Army and attended Salem College, High Point College and Duke University. Rev. Fulk served as a minister for 57 years for the Western NC United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, J. Wade Fulk.

Rev. Fulk is survived by his wife, Lucy Creed Fulk; two daughters, Ann F. Newsome and husband Ronnie of Kannapolis and Pepper F. Triplet and husband Jon of Mooresville; two sons, Joseph M. Fulk, Jr. and wife Dianne of Concord and Colon R. Fulk and wife Pam of Sherrills Ford; three sisters, Dorothy A. Benton of Pinnacle, Betty L. Tucker and R. Faye Sams and husband Carlos, both of Pilot Mountain; brother Jackie D. Fulk and wife Carolyn of Shoals; ten grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
