J. C. Thorneburg

J. C. Thorneburg, MSgt. USAF Ret., 85 of 1711 Highway 17, South, Surfside Beach, SC, and formerly of Kannapolis, died Tuesday, August 24, 2004, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital in Georgetown, SC. A graveside service with interment to follow will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Friday, August 27, 2004, at Carolina Memorial Park. Dr. Greg Sloop will officiate. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service. Born November 13, 1919, in Cabarrus County, he was a son of the late Raymond Loy Thorneburg and Maude Alice LaFever Thorneburg. He retired as a master sergeant from the US Air Force after 30 years of service. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Sloop Thorneburg; a daughter, Vivian E. Thorneburg of Surfside Beach; two sons, C. Michael Thorneburg of Surfside Beach and John Carey Thorneburg of Salisbury; four grandchildren, Johnathan David Thorneburg, Mindy Thorneburg, Mandy Thorneburg and Keith Michael Thorneburg; and three great-grandchildren, Sage Nola Thorneburg, Sierra Rayne Thorneburg and Cloe Thorneburg.
