Jack Eugene Lowder

Mr. Jack Eugene Lowder, 76, of 1203 S. Zion Street, Landis, died Wednesday, June 13, 2007, at NorthEast Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, June 15, 2007, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Norman Brisson will officiate. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Concord. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. Friday, at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times, they will be at the residence. Born January 16, 1931, in Cabarrus County, he was the son of the late Pearl Lee Lowder and Ethel Overcash Lowder. He retired from the US Post Office in Landis and later worked for the Cabarrus County Tax Assessor's office. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War and was a former member of Poston Perkins VFW Post 8989. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Kannapolis and previously was a member of Cannon Memorial Masonic Lodge and the Cabarrus County Shrine Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sylvia Lee Lowder. Survivors include his wife, Irene Elwood Lowder; two sons, Jeffrey E. Lowder and Mark D. Lowder, both of the home; a sister, Vivian Lowder Rogers of Kannapolis; one brother, Robert E. Lowder and wife, Carolyn, of Concord; and several nieces and nephews. Memorials may be sent to First Baptist Church, 101 N. Main Street, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
