Jack Franklin Mann, 89, of Kannapolis passed away Thursday, July 9, 2026. Jack was born October 1, 1936 in Cabarrus County. He was the son of the late Homer Alexander Mann and Dora Elizabeth Canup Mann.
Jack was a dedicated family man. His stories of his childhood family warmed the hearts of generations. He was a witty jokester who lit up any room he was in. He loved fishing, dancing, and celebrating life. After retiring he worked for many years as a driver for the Rotary Express train at Village Park. His prayers in his last days were for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Until the end his concern was for those he loved.
Jack is preceded in death by his wife of 69 years Irene Elizabeth Mann, and survived by his daughter, Beverly Tucker (Jim) of Concord; son, Scott Mann (Chrep) of Charlotte; four grandchildren, Sonia Walter, Amanda Woods (Brandon), Jason Mann (Shannon) and Brett Mann (Elisabeth); and three great grandchildren, Madison, Dellen and Hailey.
Memorials can be made to Cabarrus County Humane Society. A celebration of Jack's life will be held at the Park Building at Village Park, 700 West C Street in Kannapolis on Sunday, July 19th from 3:00 to 5:00 pm.
