Jack W. Spry

Mr. Jack W. Spry Sr., 75, of 1015 E. 11th St., Kannapolis, died Monday, June 30, 2008, at Big Elm Nursing Center in Kannapolis. A graveside service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday, July 3, 2008, at Carolina Memorial Park. The Rev. Jessie Overcash will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. Mr. Spry was born Dec. 12, 1932, in Rowan County. He was the son of the late Sanford Spry and Isabell Newson Spry. He retired from ADM Trucking as a truck driver. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Spry, on Oct. 21, 2003. Mr. Spry is survived by his children, Sherry Barnette, Shelvelene Dudley and husband, Mike, Ricea Hinson and husband, J.R., Jewell Foster and Jack Spry Jr. and wife, Dawn, all of Kannapolis; a brother, Bill Spry of Landis; and two sisters, Frances Sewtzer of Kannapolis and Margie Howard of Oakboro; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
