Ms. Jacksie Emma Lowdermilk Helms, 93, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at Carolinas Healthcare System - NorthEast in Concord.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Saturday, May 20, 2017, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. J. Rodney Quesenberry, Ryan Tucker and Jeannie Moore will officiate.
The family will receive friends Saturday at The Amity House at Lady's Funeral Home following the service.
Ms. Helms was born August 16, 1923 in Burke County. She was a daughter of the late John Andrew Lowdermilk and Marietta Beard Lowdermilk. She retired from the former Concord Tribune. She was of the Baptist Faith. Ms. Helms enjoyed working outside in her yard.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by daughter, Maddlin Allman.
Ms. Helms is survived by five daughters, Joyce Evans and husband David of Concord, Brenda Gerner and husband Don of Gibsonville, Jacquline Helms of Gibsonville, Dorothy Plyler of Oakboro and Robin Tucker of Concord; brother, J.C. Lowdermilk of Valdese; sisters, Bernice Deaton of Ellerbe and Norma Jackson of Lake Wylie; 15 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren.
The family would like to express their special thanks to the staff of Brookdale Concord Parkway for the love and care that she received.
