James Harold Carter

Mr. James Harold Carter, 94, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2018, in Kannapolis.

A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Monday, January 8, 2018, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. J. R. Beaver will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 pm Monday at Lady's Funeral Home.

Mr. Carter was born June 25, 1923 in Kannapolis. He was a son of the late Everette Carter and Gracie Cline Carter. He was the oldest active member of Jackson Park Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the US Navy having served during World War II.

Mr. Carter is survived by wife, Katherine Smith Carter; son, Steve Carter and wife Mary Rae of Simpsonville, SC; daughter, Susan C. McCurdy of Kansas City, MO; sister, Gertie Wilkerson of Kannapolis; four grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
