Mr. James "Jimmy" Donald Fritts, 84, passed away Monday, January 9, 2023, at Atrium Health Cabarrus in Concord after a brief illness.
A funeral service is scheduled for 12:00 pm Friday, January 13, 2023, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Marty Payton will officiate. Interment will be at a later date at Salisbury National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11 to 11:45 am Friday at Lady's Funeral Home.
James was born May 4, 1938 in Rowan County. He was a son of the late Walton Paul Fritts, Sr. and Annie Mae Foster Fritts. He was a veteran of the US Air Force. Prior to James' retirement, he was a parts delivery driver for many years with Hendricks Honda of Concord, where he enjoyed driving and earned a Million Mile Safety Award. James was known for his love for the Lord and rarely missed an opportunity to share this with others. He enjoyed singing and always brought a smile to others by his jokes and friendliness. He was a loving husband and devoted caregiver to his wife for many years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three siblings: Paul Fritts, Jr. (Louise), Carol Fritts Broadway and Ludean Fritts.
James is survived by his wife of 32 years, Georgie; two daughters, Gina Fritts Dawson (Richard) and Michelle Fritts Doyle (Michael); step-daughter, Marsha Gaskey (Ron); two grandchildren, Victoria Dawson Cobb (Ben) and Alex Stewart; and his wife's grandchildren, Tim and Lisa; as well as life long friend, Bobby Vinson.
Memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or a children's charity of your choice.
