James William Goudes

Mr. James W. Goudes of Kannapolis departed this life and ascended into Heaven in the early hours of Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at Levine & Dickson Hospice after a brief, but courageous battle with cancer.

Born on October 4, 1954, James was educated in the public schools of North Carolina and served his country in the United States Army.

In 1983 James married Becky Goodnight, the love of his life, and they were blessed with a beautiful daughter, Courtney. In 1986, James and Becky founded Jiffy Quick Convenience Store and was known to his friends as "Mr. Jiffy".

James will always be remembered for his big heart, generous nature and heart-warming laugh. He was ever ready to help a friend in need with his time and resources.

James loved to tinker with his machines and spent many pleasant hours in his beloved shop. His imagination was boundless.

James is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca Goodnight Goudes and daughter, Courtney Elizabeth Goudes.

A service in celebration of James' life will be held at Lady's Funeral Home on Saturday, May 19, 2012. Visitation is from 1:30 to 3:00 pm with the service commencing at 3:00 pm. Internment will immediately follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.
