James Harold Haithcock

Mr. James Harold Haithcock, 88, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at Genesis Healthcare - Woodland Hill Center in Asheboro.

A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am Friday, May 16, 2014, at First Wesleyan Church. Rev. Scott Wheeler will officiate. The body will lie in-state for 30 minutes prior to the service. Interment with military funeral honors will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 pm Thursday at Lady’s Funeral Home.

Mr. Haithcock was born May 13, 1926 in Kannapolis. He was a son of the late James Earl Haithcock and Mamie Lee Haithcock. He retired in 1987 from the Kannapolis Post Office where he was a letter carrier. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in World War II. He was a member of First Wesleyan Church, Past President of the District Wesleyan Men, District Board of Administration Member of the NC West District. He was also a Sunday school teacher and local church board member.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Aline Jordan Haithcock; and a brother, Charles “Ed” Haithcock.

Mr. Haithcock is survived by his daughter, Sandra Albertson and husband David of Thomasville; son, Randy Haithcock and wife Joy of Asheboro; brother, Bobby Haithcock and wife Janice of Kannapolis; nine grandchildren, Angela Davenport and husband Jason, Hope Hucks and husband George, Daniel Albertson and wife Hope, Faith Tolan and husband Aaron, Paul Haithcock and wife Heather, Mark Haithcock and wife Carissa, Christina Haithcock, Leah Haithcock and Jeremiah Haithcock; nine great grandchildren, Emily, Elijah and Ryland Hucks, Isaiah, Ania and Ezekiel Tolan, Nathaniel and Allison Davenport and Jackson Haithcock.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to First Wesleyan Church, 301 Bethpage Road, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
