James Russell Houck
October 25, 1937 — October 18, 2018
Mr. James Russell Houck, 80, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2018, in Kannapolis.
A funeral service is scheduled for 12:00 pm Monday, October 22, 2018, at New Covenant Baptist Church. Rev. Roger Steadman and Rev. Bobby Sutherland will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.
The family will receive friends from 11 to 11:45 am Monday at New Covenant Baptist Church.
Mr. Houck was born October 25, 1937 in Jefferson, NC in Ashe County. He was a son of the late Chester Lee Houck and Tensie Medley Houck. He was a member of New Covenant Baptist Church.
Mr. Houck is survived by his wife, Louise Wyatt Houck; daughter, Ramona Sossamon and husband Don of Mt. Ulla; son, Leonard L. Houck and wife Julia of Crumpler; three grandchildren, Lori Eagle, Brian Eagle and Russell Houck; and five great grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
