Mr. James Quint Linker, age 89, died Sunday, December 26, 2010. Funeral services for Mr. Linker will be conducted in the Historic Forest Hill United Methodist Church at 11:00 am Thursday, December 30, 2010. Rev. Merrill Perkins and Rev. David Hockett will officiate. Entombment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at Lady's Funeral Home, Kannapolis, from 5 until 7:00 pm Wednesday, December 29, 2010. Mr. Linker was born in Cabarrus County on October 25, 1921, a son of the late Norman Harley Linker and Annie Carter Linker. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and worked in auto sales through out his career. Survivors include his wife, Louise Plott Linker, a son Mike Linker and wife, Claire of Pittsboro, NC, daughter Sherry Linker Edenfield and husband, David of Southern Pines, N.C.; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Coy Linker of Kannapolis and a sister Maggie Keener of Kannapolis. Memorials for Mr. Linker may be directed to Forest Hill United Methodist Church, 265 Union Street, N., Concord, NC 28025.
