James Warley Sartain

Mr. James Warley Sartain, 60, of 121 Crystal Creek Drive, China Grove, went home to be with the Lord and his mother on Tuesday, September 10, 2002. A graveside service with interment to follow will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday, September 12, 2002, at West Lawn Memorial Park. The Rev. Ralph Robinette will officiate. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9:00 PM Wednesday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the residence. Born March 14, 1942, in Concord, he was a son of the late Grover Odell Sartain and the late Mazelle Graham Sartain. He was employed as a painter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Ervin and Watson Odell Sartain, Sr.; and one sister, Pinkey Munday. Survivors include his wife, Laura Truax Sartain; two daughters, Dorothy S. Nunns and Betty Sue Lay, both of Georgia; three sons, James Ray, Grover Todd, and Lucas O'Neal Sartain, all of China Grove; two sisters, Lucille Hatley and Martha Spencer, both of Kannapolis; one brother, Mitchell Sartain of Kannapolis; ten grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
