James Marion Self

Mr. James Marion Self, 82, passed away Friday, October 6, 2017, at PruittHealth - Town Center in Harrisburg.

A memorial service is scheduled for 4:00 pm Monday, October 9, 2017, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Dr. Greg Sloop will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 3:45 pm Monday at Lady's Funeral Home.

Mr. Self was born August 6, 1935 in Gastonia, NC. He was a son of the late Jonathan Giles Self and Mary Lee Hartley Self. He graduated from A.L. Brown High School and attended Kannapolis Church of God for many years. He retired after 20 years from United Air Filter where he was a Plant Manager.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Self.

Mr. Self is survived by his wife of 46 years, Patsy Karriker Self; two sisters, Jill Murph and husband Danny of China Grove and Carolyn Cody and husband Sonny of Kannapolis; and two brothers, Steve Self of Concord and Darrel Self and wife Helen of Naples, FL; and many nieces and nephews.
