James Alan Storti, 68, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2011, at his residence. A memorial service is scheduled for 7:00 pm Friday, December 9, 2011, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Mike Burkett will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6:30 pm Friday at Lady's Funeral Home. Mr. Storti was born November 14, 1943 in Great Barrington, MA. He was a son of the late Louis Joseph Storti and Lillian Evelyn Storti. He was a carpenter having worked in cabinet building and was working for Lowes from whom he had retired. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. In addition to her parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Roberta Pellegrini. A member of the Tri County Cowboy Church in Mt. Pleasant, he worked as their handyman and time keeper for many events. He helped worked with many other churches including Central Station, Double Horseshoe and Silver Star. He is survived by daughters, Melissa Carpenter and husband Terry of Mt. Pleasant, Brenda Grogan and husband Lane of CT, Jennifer Storti and fianc e Jason Gorman of CT and Kim Yancik of Atlanta, GA; sons, Brian Bottass and wife Leah of CT, Freddie Bottass and wife Karyl of CT and Scott Storti and wife Kimberly of Kannapolis; sister, Lillian "Cookie" Spain and husband Chuck of MA; brother, Louis Joseph Storti, Jr. and wife Dee Dee of MA and sixteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Building Fund of Tri County Cowboy Church, 3650 Cauble Road, Mt. Pleasant, NC 28124.
