Jane Overcash Goodnight

Mrs. Elizabeth Jane Goodnight, 93, passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at her home.

A graveside service is scheduled for 3:00 pm Saturday, September 18, 2021, at West Lawn Memorial Park. Pastor Mike Roper will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.

Mrs. Goodnight was born May 17, 1928 in Rowan County. She was a daughter of the late Joseph Albert Overcash and Rosa Elizabeth Spry Overcash. She was a lifetime member of Landis Baptist Church. Mrs. Goodnight graduated from South Rowan High School in 11th grade. She loved her farm where she was born and lived her entire life, spending time with her family, traveling to the mountains and gospel music. Mrs. Goodnight also loved her flowers and gardening.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a step-son Norman Curtis Goodnight; two sisters, Ruby Mae Overcash Beaver and Dorothy Lee Overcash; and three brothers, James Herman Motley, Daniel Wertz Overcash and Raymond Alexander Overcash.

Mrs. Goodnight is survived by daughter, Rebecca "Becky" Goudes of Kannapolis; a son, Randy William Goodnight of China Grove; and two grandchildren.
