Jane Cathryne Mccommons

Mrs. Jane Cathryne Lippard McCommons, 84, of 2016 Carolina Avenue, Kannapolis, died Tuesday, March 11, 2003, at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, March 14, 2003, at Royal Oaks Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Larry Pittman will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lady's Funeral Home. Born October 8, 1918, in Rowan County, she was a daughter of the late Shufford Lippard and the late Hope Fisher Lippard. Mrs. McCommons retired in 1978 from Stonewall Jackson School in Concord where she was a secretary for 20 years. She was a member of Royal Oaks Presbyterian Church. In addition to to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Winfield McCommons, who died September 1, 1993; and a daughter Frances McCommons Alling. Survivors include a daughter, Sylvia M. Chester and her husband, Wayne, of Cornelius; a son, Joe W. McCommons of Kannapolis; a sister, Nelle Walton of Granite Quarry; son-in-law, Peter S. Alling of Boxborough, Mass.; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
