Janet Lefler Chastain

Mrs. Janet L. Chastain, 71, of 206 N. Ridge Avenue died Friday, March 9, 2007, at her residence. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 am Monday, March 12, 2007, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Tom Cabaniss will officiate. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 pm tonight at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at her residence. Mrs. Chastain was born February 9, 1936 in Rowan County. She was a daughter of the late Charles Lee Lefler and Thelma Louise Eddins Lefler. She retired from the sewing room of Fieldcrest-Cannon, where she was a reinspector. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Kannapolis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Akins Chastain, in 2001; two sisters, Louise Davis and Peggy Litaker. Mrs. Chastain is survived by two sons, Mark Chastain of Kannapolis and Chuck Chastain and wife, Joyce, of Russellville, AR; two daughters, Elaine C. Price and husband, Johnny, of Kannapolis and Lisa C. Stowe and husband, Billy, of Concord; two brothers, Harold Lefler of Greensboro and William Lefler of Salisbury; sister, Charline Miller of Salisbury; three grandchildren, Laura Bumgarner, Patricia Price, and Matthew Chastain.
