Janice Sue Honeycutt Adcock

April 28, 1933 — June 17, 2022

Mrs. Janice Sue Honeycutt Adcock, 89, passed away Friday, June 17, 2022, at her home in Kannapolis.

A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Her grandchildren, Rev. Chris Ward and Toby Ward, will officiate. Music will be provided by her grandson, Adrian Adcock.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:45 pm Tuesday at Lady's Funeral Home.

Mrs. Adcock was born April 28, 1933 in Stanly County. She was a daughter of the late Boyd Honeycutt and Gertie Rowland Honeycutt. She was a longtime member of Multiply Church in Concord. In her earlier years, she was the front office receptionist for Dr. Lyles and Dr. Collins in Concord while concurrently working in the Admissions Office at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital. In her 50's, she went back to school to receive her Nursing Degree from Wingate University and worked at various regional hospitals into her 70's. She also worked as a Shift Nurse for Pillowtex at Plant One for a number of years.

Janice was passionate about cooking, especially for her family. She made breakfast and dinner almost daily from scratch. Everything that her husband grew in the garden was canned by her and eventually cooked. Many days, clothes were hung on the line outside prior to breakfast. When her working career slowed down, she enjoyed filling her time watching cooking shows on the Food Network and served senior meals at Multiply Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Boyce Adcock; daughter, Sherry Adcock Ward; and her sister, Joyce Riggs Robinette.

Janice is survived by three sons, Gary Adcock of Charlotte, Alvin Adcock and wife Denise of Concord and Dean Adcock of Kannapolis; 11 grandchildren, Adrian, Adam, Sarah, Katie, Trey, Casey, Kasey, Kelsey, Chris, Toby and Zack; and 15 great grandchildren.

Memorials may be sent to Multiply Church, 150 Warren C. Coleman Blvd., Concord, NC 28027.
