March 28, 1912 — August 29, 2003

Mrs. Janie Myers Rodgers Baucom, 91, a resident of Five Oaks Manor and formerly of Dakota Street in Kannapolis, died Friday, August 29, 2003, at Five Oaks Manor. Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Sunday, August 31, 2003, at Parkwood Baptist Church. The Rev. Darrell Coble and the Rev. Dr. Jill Y. Crainshaw will officiate. Interment will follow at Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery in Concord. The family will receive friends from 2 to 2:45 p.m. Sunday at Parkwood Baptist Church. At other times they will be at their respective homes. Born March 28, 1912, in Cabarrus County, she was a daughter of the late Paul Kesler Myers and the late Betty Louise Tarleton Myers. Mrs. Baucom retired several years ago from the Washcloth Department of Cannon Mills, Plant One in Kannapolis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, Henry Stuart Rodgers and Otto Wayne Baucom. Survivors include a daughter, Sarah Crainshaw and her husband, Jerry, of Kannapolis; a son, H. S. "Sonny" Rodgers, Jr. and his wife, Donna, of Kannapolis; three grandchildren, Jill Y. Crainshaw, Joel Stuart Crainshaw and Kelly Wayne Rodgers; and four great-grandchildren, Abigail Rodgers, Carson Crainshaw, Chase Crainshaw and Nicholas Crainshaw. Memorials may be sent to Parkwood Baptist Church, 1069 Central Drive, Concord, NC 28027.
