Jason Devin Norwood

Jason Devin Norwood, 55, passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Novant Health Charlotte Orthopedic Hospital.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Gary Chapman will officiate. Interment will follow at West Concord Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11 to 12:45 pm Saturday prior to the service at Lady's Funeral Home.

Jason was born on September 23, 1957 in Avery County. He was a son of the late Everette Norwood and Belva Kay Kennedy Blevins. Jason graduated from East Surry High School and attended the University of Southern Florida at Tampa. He retired as an operations manager for Burger King. Jason was on the Board of Directors of Kitty City and was an active volunteer as well.

Jason is survived by his lifelong partner, David Thomason of Concord; sister, Georgia Smith of Princeton, WV; brother, Ernest Norwood of Newland; and three nephews and two nieces, Anthony, Nathaniel, Christopher, Brittany and Danielle.
