Jean Phillips Adcock

Mrs. Jean P. Adcock, 70, of 4251 Burgin Street, Kannapolis, died Saturday, March 10, 2007. Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at Royal Oaks Baptist Church. The Rev. Leon Smith and Mr. Jeff Clay will officiate. A committal service and entombment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2007, at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. Tuesday at Royal Oaks Baptist Church. At other times, they will be at the home of her daughter, Terri Goodman, 115 Springway Drive, Kannapolis. Born February 4, 1937, in Ashe County, Mrs. Adcock was the daughter of the late W. M. Phillips and Loretta Baker Phillips. She was employed for 40 years with the Cannon Mills companies in the electronic data information department. She was a 1955 graduate of A. L. Brown High School and later graduated from Kings Business College. She was a member of Royal Oaks Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling with her husband throughout the United States and Canada promoting the safety of elevator and ski-lift equipment. She was very proud of her grandsons involvement in AAU and USSSA Baseball, and her player position was "Cheering Fan". In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Bryan Thomas Adcock; and a sister, Gail Goodman. Survivors include her husband, Thomas L. "Tom" Adcock of the home; a daughter, Terri Goodman and husband, Keith, of Kannapolis; one brother, Ray Phillips of Fleetwood; and two grandsons, Baker Goodman and Jordan Goodman, both of Kannapolis.
