Jennifer Elizabeth Cobb, 38, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 22, 2015. Jennifer was born to Thomas and Mary Ann Cobb in Houston, Texas on September 15th, 1977. She is survived by her mother Mary Ann, her brother Andrew Lloyd, her brother David Stuart and his wife Lauren, her niece Avery, and many loving family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Thomas and grandparents, Lucy and Ervin Cobb, and Donald and Mary Crawford.

Jennifer first graduated from Westbury High School in Houston. Her first degree came from the University of Texas at Austin in Psychology. She later earned a Master of Science, Counseling and Student Personnel degree at Minnesota State University, Mankato, licence for massage therapy via the Healing Handz Massage Academy in Bryan, Texas, a Diploma of Theological Studies at the Episcopal Seminary of the Southwest and was pursuing a Masters of Divinity at the Hood Theological Seminary in Salisbury, North Carolina.

She has served both God and her community in so many different roles throughout her life. She has been a cherished member of Christ Church Cathedral in Houston Texas, Saint Francis in College Station, St. David’s in Austin, honorary sister at St. Gertrude's Monastery and at All Saints’ Episcopal Church in Concord, North Carolina.

She has also worked as a counselor for troubled youth at Eckerd Youth Alternatives in Vermont, Admissions Counselor at Youth For Understanding in Washington DC, Instructor for Decision Making for Career and Life at Minnesota State, a Graduate Assistant at Minnesota State, a Residence Life Coordinator and International Student Advisor at Grinnell College, a Financial Aid Counselor at Texas A&M University, a self-employed Massage Therapist, a Chaplain Intern at St. Cloud VA Hospital, a Chaplain Resident at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast and most recently has been serving as the parish administrator at All Saints’ Church where she showed such love and devotion to her community and colleagues. She approached each new calling with passion, focus, energy, love, and a playful spirit. She took her role on the Celebration and Pranks Committee at All Saints’ seriously, such as transforming the Rector's office into an island resort complete with a kiddie pool, and meticulously preparing other surprises for staff at times when they were out of the office, bringing much joy and laughter to the parish.

Jennifer deeply touched the lives of everyone around her with her gentle and thoughtful nature, her compassion, and her adventurous spirit and love for travel. There was always time for another hike with a waterfall for Jennifer. She had many favorites, but her most treasured were in the mountains near Boulder Colorado where she would annually vacation with her family.

Jennifer sought to see the world from direct experience and take pathways not well known. Some of the places she visited include France, Mexico, Tazmania, New Zealand, Australia, Honduras, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, and Sweden. State-side she loved hiking trails in Colorado, Vermont, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, and Virginia.

A visitation occurred from 6:00-7:30, Friday September 25th at All Saints’ Episcopal Church and Services were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, September 26th also at All Saints’ Episcopal Church. The Rev. Nancy Cox officiated.

An additional memorial service to reflect upon and celebrate Jennifer’s life will be held in Houston at 10am, October 17th at Christ Church Cathedral, 1117 Texas Ave, 77002.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to All Saints’ Episcopal Church, Seminary of the Southwest in Austin, Wild Goose Festival, The Monastery of St. Gertrude in Idaho, Hood Seminary in Salisbury, or the Chaplain Education program at Carolina’s Medical Center - NorthEast.
