Mr. Jereme "Kegan" Bates, 31, of Kannapolis, passed unexpectedly Saturday, December 12, 2020, at Atrium Health Cabarrus in Concord, gaining his wings.
There will be a private memorial service for family and close friends held in his honor on Saturday, December 19, 2020 from 5 to 8:00 pm at his Aunt Toni’s house.
Kegan was born October 30, 1989 in Statesville to William Ray "Rocky" Bates, Jr. and Caren Davis Bates. Kegan was the jokester of the family and made it his goal to always bring a smile to everyone's face. He had an infectious smile that you couldn’t help but to catch when he was around. He loved to act silly and dance all the time, mostly to the beat of his own drum. He had the biggest and kindest heart you’d ever seen. His compassionate heart and charming personality will definitely always be remembered.
In addition to his parents, Rocky and Caren (Scott Measmer), he was survived by his sister, Kalei Bates (Chris McMickle); and niece, Willow Grace McMickle, his pride and joy; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and life long friends who all loved him dearly.
Kegan's final act was to give the gifts of life through organ donation, and he will live on and continue to be a blessing to others.
