Jerry C. Helms

Mr. Jerry C. Helms, 63, of Kannapolis, died Friday, March 14, 2003, at NorthEast Medical Center. Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 PM Tuesday, March 18, 2003, at Enochville Church of God. Rev. David Shoemake will officiate. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The body will remain at Lady's Funeral Home until taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9:00 PM Monday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at the residence. Mr. Helms was born January 1, 1940 in Rowan County. He was a son of the late Howard C. Helms and Maggie Weaver Helms. He was employed at Pillowtex Plant One, Mill Seven in Kannapolis. He attended Enochville Church of God. Mr. Helms is survived by his wife Norma Merritt Helms; a son Jeffrey Helms and Kim Lentz of Concord; a daughter, Dawn Morgan and her husband, Chuck, of Kannapolis; two grandchildren, Holly Morgan and Heather Morgan; three sisters, Jean Dancy and Marty Helms, both of Kannapolis, Becky Jones of Garner, NC; two brothers, Donald Helms of China Grove and David Helms of Landis.
