Jerry Thomas Haney, Sr.

Mr. Jerry Thomas Haney, Sr., 67, passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2012, at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, December 4, 2012, at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 10:30 am Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at Lady's Funeral Home.

Mr. Haney was born on December 5, 1945 in Cabarrus County. He was a son of the late Jewell "Red" Haney and Myrtie Thomas Haney. He retired from Crossroad Ford in Cary and formerly was a truck driver for Moss Trucking.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Haney and his brother-in-lawm Ray Lapish.

Mr. Haney is survived by his wife, Brenda Lily Haney; daughter, Christine Haney and husband Tommy of China Grove; son, Jerry T. Haney, Jr. of Zebulon; step-son, Kevin Reed of Cool Ridge, WV; grandson, Jeremy; sister, Barbara Lapish of Concord; and sister-in-law, Jean Haney of Kannapolis.
