Jerry Alexander Stirewalt

Mr. Jerry “Jay” Alexander Stirewalt, Jr., 69, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at his home.

A funeral service is scheduled for 11:30 am Friday, September 23, 2016, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Dr. Jarrod Lanning will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11:15 am Friday at Lady's Funeral Home.

Mr. Stirewalt was born December 31, 1946 in Salisbury, NC. He was a son of the late Jerry Alexander Stirewalt, Sr. and Mary Peeler Stirewalt. He was an A.L. Brown graduate, Class of 1965, where he served as Student Body President. He attended UNC Chapel Hill prior to joining the U.S. Air Force. He worked for Sherwin-Williams as an assistant manager in Kannapolis and was a manager of the Salisbury and Riverside, CA stores. He later retired from CMC-NorthEast in Concord where he worked as a courier.

Mr. Stirewalt is survived by his brother, David Stirewalt and fiancée Jeanna Boyd of Kannapolis; two nephews, Cory Stirewalt and wife Miriam of Kannapolis and Brett Stirewalt and wife Lauren of Salisbury; and two great nephews, Caleb and William; and great niece, Claire.
