Jerry Dixon Woods

Mr. Jerry Dixon Woods, 76, passed away Sunday, September 7, 2014, at CMC-NorthEast in Concord.

A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Thursday, September 11, 2014, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jimmy Barnhill will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:30 pm Thursday at Lady's Funeral Home.

Mr. Woods was born September 30, 1937 in Gaston County. He was a son of the late Horace Newton Woods, Sr. and Evvie Lenora Harrington Woods. He worked for Siemens Energy/Siemens Westinghouse as a machinist. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was a member of Jackson Park Pentecostal Holiness Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Helen Earnhardt, Ruby Holt and Mary Thomas; and five brothers, Clement, Edgar, Elvert, Horace and Howard Woods.

Mr. Woods is survived by his wife, Betty Warren Woods; three sons, Mark Woods and wife Melinda and John D. Woods and wife Lori, all of China Grove and Stephen Wayne Woods and wife Jenny of Kannapolis; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
