Mr. Jimmie Max Weaver, 84, passed away Saturday, August 8, 2026, at his home in Kannapolis.

A memorial service is scheduled for 1:00 pm Thursday, August 13, 2026, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Landis. Pastor Candice Carter and Rev. Dr. Jarrod Lanning will officiate. Inurnment with military honors will follow at Trinity Lutheran Church Columbarium.

The family will receive friends from 12 to 12:45 pm Thursday in the church Parlor at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Jimmie was born on December 12, 1941, in Landis. He was the son of the late Robert Edward Weaver and Ila Mae Pritchette Weaver. He was deeply involved in scouting, first working with Troop 399 and later with Troop 206, where he found great joy in mentoring and encouraging youth. Jimmie proudly served his country, first in the Air Force followed by the Army National Guard and finally with the Air National Guard. He spent approximately 24 years working as a fixer at Cannon Mills before continuing his career with Philip Morris, where he worked until his retirement in 2002. Throughout his working years, he was involved in the Safety Department in all of his jobs.

Jimmie was a creative soul who enjoyed woodworking, drawing sketches, and writing poetry. He also loved fishing and spending time at the beach, where he could simply sit and watch the waves roll in. He found joy in these quiet moments and in the many hobbies that allowed him to work with his hands and express his creativity.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Romell Ritchie.

Jimmie is survived by his wife, Modena McCreary Weaver; daughter, Melissa Adams (Philip) of Kernersville; son, Brian Weaver (Deborah) of Raleigh; sister, Daisy Mae Rodgers of China Grove; four grandchildren, Seth Adams (Loretta), Hayley Adams, Anna Weaver, and Ethan Weaver; and a great granddaughter, Hollyn Adams.
