Jimmy Ray Bost

Jim Bost, 73, beloved husband of Betty D. Bost, passed away unexpectedly, Friday, May 3, 2013 at CMC-NorthEast.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor David Mills of the United Church of God will officiate. Interment will follow at Trinity Lutheran Church cemetery in Concord.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:00 pm, Wednesday, prior to the service at Lady's Funeral Home.

Jim was born on January 1, 1940 in Gold Hill. He was the second New Year's baby for Rowan County. Jim was a son of the late William Raymond Bost and Ethel Sides Bost. He had many happy stories of growing up on a hard working farm.

Jim retired from Equity Office Properties where he was a Building Maintenance Engineer responsible for all equipment functions at the Legacy Wachovia thirty story tower. Jim was well known as "Mr. Fix It" because he could engineer it and build it. He stayed busy in retirement assisting people seeking his help.

Jim was one of a kind, unique, energetic, creative and hard working man who will be sorely missed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Bost Troutman and Betty Bost Gandy; and four brothers, James Lee Bost, Ralph Lane Bost, Bobby Gene Bost and William Maurice Bost.

Jim is survived by his wife, Betty Downum Bost; sister, Edith Bost; brother, John Walter Bost; two nieces, Susie Wood and Cathy Bumgarden; and nephews, Perry Troutman, Jim and Gary Bost.
