Joann Mullis Bowman

Mrs. Joann Mullis Bowman, 67, passed away Friday, June 30, 2017, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.

A funeral service is scheduled for 4:00 pm Sunday, July 2, 2017, at Zion Freewill Baptist Church. Rev. Daniel McClamrock and Rev. Jean Tucker will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 3:45 pm Sunday at Zion Freewill Baptist Church.

Mrs. Bowman was born December 4, 1949 in Cabarrus County. She was a daughter of the late Joe William Mullis and Maggie Sarah O'Neal Mullis. She worked in the Towel Department for Cannon Mills Plant One as an inspector. She was a member of Zion Freewill Baptist Church where she was also the church treasurer.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Perry Bowman; two sisters, Martha Mullis and Mable Morris; and two brothers, Walter Ray O’Neal and William M. Mullis.

Mrs. Bowman is survived by three sisters, Sarah Jean Tucker and Kay Gearing and husband Herman, all of Kannapolis and Betty Crowley of Concord; brother, Jerry Mullis of Locust; a number of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
