Joann Overcash (Smith)

Joann Smith Overcash, 82, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2015 at her home.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, January 10, 2015, at Lady’s Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Scott Swix will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church Cemetery in China Grove.

The family will receive friends from 12 to 2:00 pm Saturday prior to the service at Lady’s Funeral Home.

Joann was born on June 25, 1932 in Union County. She was the daughter of the late William Emmett Smith and Virgie Williams Smith. She retired from Mitchell Community College where she worked as an executive secretary. Joann was a member of the Pilot Club and Kimball Memorial Lutheran Church. She was a volunteer for NorthEast Medical Center.

Joann is survived by her husband of fifty-eight years, H. Kenny Overcash.
