Mr. John Wesley Dial, 77, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2020, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.
A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am Monday, August 31, 2020, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jeff Upright and Rev. Tim Newton will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove with Military Honors conducted by the Rowan County Veterans Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:45 am Monday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Mr. Dial was born October 19, 1942 in Baltimore, MD. He was a son of the late Isaac H. Dial and Berta Newton Dial. Mr. Dial was a Veteran of the Vietnam War, having served in the US Navy Reserves. He retired in 1990. Mr. Dial was a member of Bible Missionary Baptist Church and the Vietnam Veterans Association. He worked as an electrician at Cannon Mills Plant 1. He retired from Concord Telephone, and then worked for the NC Department of Corrections as a correctional officer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Wayne Mitchell Dial.
Mr. Dial is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Christy Dial; three sons, Karl Dial of Kannapolis, John Wesley Dial, II and wife Donna of Kannapolis and Damon Dial and wife DeAnn of Goose Creek, SC; daughter, Crystal Brown and husband Tim of Kannapolis; 11 grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
