John C.J. Wouters, 84, died Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at his home. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, March 6, 2010, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel in Kannapolis. Father Joseph Dionne, C.Ss.R will officiate. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9:00 pm Friday at Lady's Funeral Home. John was born in Tilburg, the Netherlands on August 29, 1925. He was a son of the late Piet Wouters and Petronella Schultz Wouters. He served in the Dutch Marines after having trained at Camp Lejeune Marine Corps Base. He was sent to Indonesia to serve during World War II. He later moved to the United States to live on February 23, 1960. He lived in New Jersey where he worked as an Executive Vice-President for the Bank of New York for 12 years. He later moved to Massachusetts, where he was Executive Vice-President for several investment companies. He finally moved to North Carolina, where he started his own Auditing and Investment Company before retiring in 2003. In addition to his wife of 61 ½ years, Anna Marie, John is survived by his six children: sons, Cliff and wife Sherry Koedam of NJ, Peter and wife Joyce of New York, John and wife Mary Ellen of New Jersey, and Joey of New Jersey; daughters, Marijke Wouters-Tirrell and husband Rod of MA and Diana of Mooresville; brother, Toon Wouters of The Netherlands; seven grandchildren, Troy, JT, Lisa, Zia, Jaime, Kimberly and Johnnie; and eight great grandchildren.
