Mr. John Daniel “J.D” Rinehardt, 84, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2017, at Pruitt Health-Town Center in Harrisburg.
A funeral service for Mr. Rinehardt is scheduled for 3:00 pm Tuesday in Lady’s Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Mike Roper will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park with military rites provided by the Cabarrus County Veterans Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:45 pm at Lady’s Funeral Home prior to the service on Tuesday.
Mr. Rinehardt was born May 17, 1932 in Cabarrus County, a son of the late Guy David Rinehardt and Clidybell Little Rinehardt.
He was a veteran of the US Army having served in the Korean War. He retired from Roadway Trucking where he was a long distances driver. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and “tinkering” on cars and old lawnmowers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Vivian Player Rinehardt.
Mr. Rinehardt is survived by a daughter, Michelle Cline and husband David of Harrisburg; a son Mark Rinehardt and wife Leslie of Kannapolis; two step-sons, Thomas Carter of Stanfield and Jeff Carter of Concord; three brothers, Melvin Rinehardt and Junior Rinehardt, both of Concord and Wayne Rinehardt of South Carolina; one sister, Frances Mullis of Concord; and eight grandchildren, Mason and Miles Cline, Nolan, Madeline and Camille Rinehardt, Jordan and Alexis Carter and Amber Barnhardt.
