Johnsie Faye Deal Evans

Mrs. Johnsie Faye Deal Evans, 97, passed away Monday, July 10, 2017, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.

A funeral service is scheduled for 12:00 pm Thursday, July 13, 2017, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Bill Nix will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. The family will return to the Amity House at Lady’s for a gathering of friends and family with a meal.

The family will receive friends from 11 to 11:45 am Thursday at Lady's Funeral Home.

Mrs. Evans was born December 12, 1919 in Cabarrus County. She was a daughter of the late Victor Deal and Mattie Seclery Deal. She worked for Cannon Mills as a cloth inspector. She was a Charter Member of Odell Baptist Church in Concord. She loved working in the house and housekeeping and keeping the family happy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Benjamin Haskell Evans; son, Kenneth Evans; four brothers, Gene Deal, Harry Deal, Kenneth Deal and Lloyd Deal; and two sisters, Kathleen Nance and Margeurite Phifer.

Mrs. Evans is survived by son, David Evans and wife Joyce of Concord; five grandchildren, Tabatha Whitley, Brian Evans, Toshia Braman, Crystal Nicholson and Cinnamon Little; 9 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.
