Joseph Michael Barr

Joseph M. Barr, Jr., 68, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2013, at his home in Denver, NC.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 2:00 pm Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at North Kannapolis Wesleyan Church, 314 W. 12th Street, Kannapolis, NC 28081.

Mr. Barr was born June 29, 1945 in New York, NY. He was the son of the late Joseph M. Barr and Adelaide Simeone Barr. He was a veteran of the U. S Navy where he served as a BT3 on the Franklin Delano Roosevelt.

Mr. Barr is survived by his wife, Karen Cooke Barr, and their daughter Sarah Morgan Barr along with his four sons Joseph, David, Christopher, Jason and daughter Michelle Grella from his previous marriage to Lorraine. He is also survived by his grandchildren Isabelle, Olivia, Adrianna, Eva, Emerson, Adelynne, Annabelle and Gavin along with his siblings Gene Barr, Alan Barr, Debra Charland and Lorraine Barr who all reside on Long Island, NY.

He was an intelligent great thinker who loved his family, hunting and boating.
