Joseph Patrick Guarnera

Joseph "Joe" Patrick Guarnera, 77, of Stonewyck Avenue, Kannapolis, died Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at his home. A memorial service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Friday at St. James the Greater Catholic Church, 139 Manor Avenue SW, Concord. Father Joseph Dionne, C.Ss.R. will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 3 to 4 p.m. Friday at the church. Born March 9, 1933 in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of the late Joseph Guarnera and Bridgette McDonald Guarnera. He was a retired electrician with Local 38 in Cleveland. Mr. Guarnera was a US Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of St. James the Greater Catholic Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Patricia Guarnera; and a great-grandson, Patrick Gavin Guarnera. Survivors include a daughter, Gale Guarnera of Concord; son, Joseph Guarnera and wife, Janice, of Olmstead Falls, Ohio; two grandchildren, Dominic Guarnera and wife, Katie and Joseph Guarnera; and two great-grandchildren, Myranda Guarnera and Parker Guarnera.
