She also took up quilting later in life, and passed her love of the art-form down to her granddaughter, Amanda. She studied piano as a child, and played for various churches from age 13 until earlier this year when her illness prevented her from attending.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Gray, in 2013, and her brother, James White, in 2020. Those left to cherish her memory include 3 children: Sherry Dendy (Tommy) of Kannapolis, Alan Burris (Lori) of Salisbury, and Doug Burris (Amy) of Kannapolis.
