Mrs. Julia Belle Thompson Ritchie, 90, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, October 27, 2012 at CMC-NorthEast Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held at 3:30 pm, Monday, October 29, 2012, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Forest Jones Will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3:15, Monday, at Lady's Funeral Home prior to the service.
Mrs. Ritchie was born on April 15, 1922 in Rowan County. She was the daughter of the late James Roy Thompson and Mary Ellen Goodnight Thompson. Julia graduated from J. W. Cannon High School. She was a member of Concord First Assembly. Julia enjoyed tending to her yard, especially her flowers. She was very proud of her entire family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Arthur Ritchie, Jr., on April 11, 2004.
Mrs. Ritchie is survived by her daughters, Sue Emerson and husband George of Kannapolis and Julia "Judy" Burris and husband Michael of Kershaw, SC; six grandchildren, Virginia E. Edens and husband Todd, Lisa E. Coble and husband Scott, Robin E. Sinclair and husband Jamie, Beth E. Alvarnas and husband Chris, Kathy B. Jolly and husband Tim and David M. Burris; twelve great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.
