Mrs. Karen Lynn Cook Moon Mitchell, 72, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, September 10, 2018.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 6:45 pm Thursday, September 13, 2018, at Lady's Funeral Home with a service to follow at 7:00 pm in the Chapel.
Born April 11, 1946, Karen was the daughter of the late Jessie Albert Cook, Jr. and Jean Dixon Cook. She was a longtime member of Jackson Park United Methodist Church and most recently attended North Kannapolis Methodist Church. She was a graduate of A.L. Brown High School Class of 1964. In her earlier years, she worked for Belk's and Sears Department Stores. Karen is remembered for her generous and caring nature, love for her family and friends, and especially her love for shopping.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ronald F. Moon and second husband, Terry L. Mitchell.
Karen is survived by two daughters, Julie Allred (David) of Concord and Anita Honeycutt (Mike) of Kannapolis; brother, Brandon Cook of Charlotte; three grandchildren, Meredith Allred (fiancé Tyler Hanes), Jordan Loman and Noah Loman; one great grandson, Liam Loman; niece, Tiffany Cook; and step-son, John Mitchell of Kannapolis.
