Katherine Vaughn Beam

Mrs. Katherine Vaughn Beam, 74, passed away Monday, December 24, 2018, at her residence in Kannapolis.

A funeral service is scheduled for 12:00 pm Saturday, December 29, 2018, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Christopher Stout will officiate. Interment is scheduled for 2:00 pm Friday, January 4, 2019 at Salisbury National Cemetery in Salisbury.

The family will receive friends from 11 to 11:45 am Saturday at Lady's Funeral Home.

Mrs. Beam was born October 11, 1944 in Jackson, MS. She was a daughter of the late Maggie Vaughn Elmore. Mrs. Beam was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by husband, James Louis Beam, Sr.; and a son-in-law, C.J. Carr.

Mrs. Beam is survived by four daughters, Suedenia Carr, Catherine Rouse (Christopher), Misty Roberts (Cleveland) and Wendy Beam-Leach (Reginald); a son, James Louis Beam, Jr.; two sisters, Ruby Gray and Bobbie Chaffin; 13 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and her special friend, Melania Hodge.
