Kathleen Coughlin

Mrs. Kathleen “Kathy” Boston Coughlin, 73, died in Christ on Saturday, August 31, 2013, at her home surrounded by her family.

A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am Tuesday, September 3, 2013, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Roger Byrd will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 pm Monday at Lady's Funeral Home.

Mrs. Coughlin was born September 26, 1939 in Lenoir. She was the daughter of the late Frank Norman Boston and Willie Mae Penley Boston. She retired from UNCC where she worked as an administrative assistant. After her retirement, she was a medical transcriptionist. She was a member of Landis First Assembly, where she was active in all phases of her church including organist, pianist and Sunday school teacher. She was a graduate of Lenoir High School and Berkshire Christian College in Lenox, MA.

Kathy was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother and was also a very supportive and caring Pastor’s wife.

Mrs. Coughlin is survived by her husband of 53 years, Rev. William H. Coughlin; two daughters, Pamela Joy Coughlin of Kansas City, MO and Bethany Alice Coughlin Ledwell and husband Robert of Concord; son, Stephen William Coughlin of Salisbury; two brothers, Floyd N. Boston and J.D. Boston, both of Lenoir; eight grandchildren, Alyssa, Madison and Grant Coughlin, Jessica Held, Cody and Kayla Luck and Emily and Katie Ledwell.
